Ted was a hard working man who drove lorries from a young age working alongside his dad with their haulage company A E Beat & Sons. My dad then relocated to york where we have lived ever since and set up his own haulage firm Millfield Haulage with 25 vehicles delivering across the country. Work was a huge part of my Dads life and we are all very proud of what he achieved over his life. Personally my dad was married to Jayne & they both spent any spare time enjoying their home in Flaxton & becoming part of the village community. Jamie & Gracie (Ted's grandchildren) loved visiting dad particularly Jamie as he got to help Dad build things, ride on the mower and borrow his flat cap. Jamie has had the best grandad to spend his first 9 years with and I'm sure he will always remember the time they spent together. Natalie & Liam (Jaynes children) were also a big part of my Dad, Jayne & our lives too. Myself and my sister Emma were very close to my Dad & will miss him so much and I'm so proud to be his daughter. Although we wish we could have had more time with you Dad, you can rest now, know that in time we will all be ok & you will forever be in our hearts. My dad spent the last 3 weeks of his life in the care of St Leonard's Hospice and we cannot thank them enough for the care they give. The staff are all so helpful and supportive at such a difficult time. We would have loved to have brought Dad home but he was in a place were he was safe, well looked after & with dignity. St Leonard's rely very heavily on donations from the public so I would ask however small please donate. Thank you Debbie xx
