The Sunflower Ball 2016

Sunflowers – the symbol of the Hospice – will be much in evidence at the event, which takes place at York Racecourse on Saturday 23 April 2016.  Guests will enjoy a Champagne drinks reception, a sumptuous four course dinner with coffee and mints, music from the band Pure Silk, a disco and casino, and a full programme of entertainment and fundraising activities until the early hours – as well as breakfast!
Last year’s ball raised more than £56,000 for the work of the Hospice, and the organising committee is hoping at least to match that this year.  They are keen to hear from local businesses and members of the community who can help to sponsor aspects of the event, including the reception, the band, the disco and dance floor, flowers and some of the dinner courses. They are also looking for donations of prizes for the evening, for business or groups to take a table at the Ball, provide a prize or place an advert in the programme.
Dawn Clements, Director of Fundraising for St Leonard’s Hospice says ‘Our fabulous Sunflower Ball is now a firm fixture in the North Yorkshire social calendar, and always raises a large amount of money for the work of St Leonard’s.   We are delighted that the committee has decided to organise another for 2016. A great deal of preparation is needed to ensure the continued success of the event and the committee will be working hard to gain local business support; we know from experience that generous help will be forthcoming.

Tickets for the Sunflower Ball cost £90 each (tables of 10 £900) and are now available.  To discuss sponsorship opportunities, offer prizes or to book your tickets, please e-mail ot telephone 01904 777777.
