What a lovely day at Wetherby Races!
I had my Shredded Wheat in preperation for the big race. It was a good turn-out, with Mascots of every shape, size and height there to raise money for various charities.
Parading around the ring, I enjoyed waving at all the children. The temperature was rising, but there was a constant supply of water and juicy oranges from the Young Farmers.
The race began and I was saddend by my 14-second handicap; this was because I have 'real' feet! There was no way I would catch the others up starting from this position. I ran as fast as I could, gracefully stopping at every hurdle to climb over without falling.
The race was finished, everyone exhausted and I was beaten by a giant milk bottle, a box of noodles and lots more! There was slight rivalry going on between me and the Fitness First monkey, i triumphed with ease as he was 'monkeying around'!
I think new tactics might be needed next year . . .
