Current vacancies are listed below, but other vacancies arise from time to time. We are always happy to hear from people who would like to discuss the possibilities for helping in and around St. Leonard’s, either with contact with patients or not.
Volunteer Nurses
Volunteers must be registered general nurses. They play a full part in the friendly nursing teams and receive supervision and training. The role is highly rewarding. Nurses usually help from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. once a week, though other arrangements are possible.
Hairdresser
We need a professionally-trained hairdresser to join our friendly team and work in our fully-equipped salon. In-patients and Daycare patients - men and women - benefit from our attentions! Ideally we need a volunteer to work on Wednesday, but we can discuss options.
Volunteer Gardeners
The volunteer gardening team keeps the Hospice gardens looking attractive and very much appreciated by patients and visitors.
The team is very friendly and needs one or two strong, fit people with a keen interest in plants and gardens, to join them on Thursday mornings.
Volunteer drivers
We should like to expand our team of drivers who use their own cars to help with Daycare driving once a week, or who are occasionally asked to drive patients and medical items. We pay a fuel allowance.
