Chris Reynard Memorial Walk's Fundraising Page.

29/03/2020

Since losing our dear friend and colleague, Chris Reynard, we have wanted to get a group together to go on a walk up a Yorkshire hill. Chris loved walking and his favourite hill was Pen-y-ghent, so it seems fitting to walk the hill in his memory.

Story

Chris Reynard was one in a million, a true friend to many, someone who always took time out to listen and offer good dependable advice. Chris was sadly diagnosed with cancer in April 2018, but he dealt with it well throughout. As his health declined, he was admitted to St Leonard’s Hospice for care where both he and his family received fantastic treatment. He is greatly missed by all who knew him. To celebrate him and to offer thanks for the care he received, we have decided to walk up one of his favourite hills in Yorkshire, Pen-y-ghent. The date we have chosen is Sunday 29th March, the weekend the clocks go forward. Time to be confirmed but probably around 10.30 a.m. We will be starting and finishing in Horton-in-Ribblesdale and the distance is about 6 miles on a round trip. It would be great if as many people as possible could join us for an enjoyable day doing something that Chris loved, sport of any kind. For those of you who don’t want to walk, we intend to meet at a pub afterwards and possibly have something to eat, where you are most welcome to join us. Please donate what you feel you can afford to a great cause. See you there.
