Challenge Walk 2020 - Postponed

Is the Challenge Walk still going ahead?

Unfortunately not. We’ve been carefully monitoring the situation with the spread of coronavirus and given how serious this threat is, and particularly given the vulnerable nature of the people we care for, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this event until further notice. It isn’t a decision that we take lightly, we have to prioritise the safety of our staff, volunteers and walkers.

Can I get my entry fee refunded?

We completely understand you’re disappointed and really hope you can attend when we rearrange. If you’re not able to make the new date, we’re happy to refund the entry fee - please get in touch directly with our fundraising team on 01904 777 777 and ask for either Sarah Atkinson or Katie Ayrton.

Because of the nature of the threat of coronavirus, we are facing unprecedented demand for our services at a time when many of our fundraising events are being postponed. This leaves us with a financial hole we need to fill. If you could consider transferring your entry fee to a donation to the Hospice, we’d be incredibly grateful.

Can I get my sponsorship refunded?

Currently, this event is going to go ahead at a future date, so rest assured that your donation is still making a big impact. Because of the nature of the threat of coronavirus, we are facing unprecedented demand for our services at a time when many of our fundraising events are being postponed. This leaves us with a financial hole we need to fill. Unfortunately, we’re not able to refund donations, in line with best practice regulations set by the Charity Commission, the Institute of Fundraising and the Fundraising Regulator.

Is there anything else I can do to help?

Yes! Because of the nature of the threat of coronavirus, we are facing unprecedented demand for our services at a time when many of our fundraising events are being postponed. This leaves us with a financial hole we need to fill. Anything you can do to support your local hospice care for our community at this difficult time is so appreciated. Please look at the “I want to help” section of this website.
