Hospice Open Day

This year's Hospice Care Week will look at the less visible staff and volunteers that make hospice care happen, as well as the materials and equipment necessary. It will also look at all the sources of funding needed to pay for this: the shops, donations, runners and coffee mornings as well grants and support from local business and charity organisations. The campaign will say: #This is what it takes to provide hospice care, and this is what it takes to pay for it all.

Hospice Open Day Saturday 5 October
The Open Day marks the start of Hospice Care Week. Come along and bring family and friends to meet staff and volunteers from all departments. Find out about the different services available to the local community. If you are interested in joining our team, our staff will be on hand to discuss the many recruitment and volunteer opportunities available.

Hospice Tours Monday 7 to Thursday 10 October
Members of staff will be delivering tours for anyone who is interested to find out more about the care we give to our patients and their families. These will take place on the Monday 7 to Thursday 10 October at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm. There is no need to book, just arrive 10 minutes before the tour begins.

Business Networking Lunch Tuesday 8 October
From 11.30am to 2pm, with a 12noon start. An opportunity for our corporate supporters to network, hear how their support has helped St Leonard's and to discuss the future. Featuring Gillian Robson and Katy Foxcroft of local business Tancream, as recently featured on Dragons Den. Booking is required - please email Annie.Keogh@stleonardshospice.nhs.uk

Solicitors' Bereavement Training Thursday 10 October
We are offering two short bereavement training sessions for local solicitors. These will be at 8.30am or 3.30pm. This has always been well received, and gives attendees an insight into the bereavement process and how people grieve: skills in dealing with bereaved people: dealing with sudden/unexpected death: and handling one’s own fears, anxieties, and emotions. To book, please email Theresa.Barrett@stleonardshospice.nhs.uk

Go Yellow!
During Hospice Care Week people all over the country will be 'going yellow' in support of the hospice movement and their local hospice. If you're a school, business or one of our supporters why not wear yellow, turn your school, home or workplace yellow, hold a yellow bake sale or get creative with the colour yellow! Don't forget to share your pictures on social media!
