Midnight Walk 2020 - New Date

Is the Midnight Walk going ahead on 4th July?

Unfortunately not. We’ve been carefully monitoring the situation with the spread of coronavirus and given how serious this threat is, and particularly given the vulnerable nature of the people we care for, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this event.  We’ll confirm the new date as soon as possible. It isn’t a decision that we take lightly, but we have to prioritise the safety of our staff, patients, volunteers and of course our amazing walkers

When will it be held?

This event will now be held on Saturday 3rd October 2020.

Can I get my entry fee refunded?

We completely understand you’re disappointed and really hope you can attend the rearranged date when this is confirmed. If you’re not able to make the new date, we’re happy to refund the ticket - please get in touch directly with our fundraising team on 01904 777 777 and ask for either Sarah Atkinson or Katie Ayrton

Because of the nature of the threat of coronavirus, we are facing unprecedented demand for our services at a time when many of our fundraising events are being postponed. This leaves us with a financial hole we need to fill. If you could consider transferring your entry fee to a donation to the Hospice, we’d be incredibly grateful.

Can I get my sponsorship refunded?

We completely understand you’re disappointed and really hope you can attend the rearranged date. Unfortunately, we’re not able to refund donations, in line with best practice regulations set by the Charity Commission, the Institute of Fundraising and the Fundraising Regulator.

Because of the nature of the threat of coronavirus, we are facing unprecedented demand for our services at a time when many of our fundraising events are being postponed. This leaves us with a financial hole we need to fill, and your support has never been more important.

Why aren’t you going ahead with this event on the planned date?

As ever, your safety is our paramount concern, and going ahead with an event with a large group of people gathered together for an extended period of time did not seem in the best interests of the general public. We understand there will be disappointment, but we take the advice from Public Health England very seriously, and hope that you will continue to support this event on its new date.

Is there anything I can do to help?

Yes! Because of the nature of the threat of coronavirus, we are facing unprecedented demand for our services at a time when many of our fundraising events are being postponed. This leaves us with a financial hole we need to fill. Anything you can do to support your local hospice care for our community at this difficult time is so appreciated. Please look at the “I want to help” section of this website.  Thank you.
