Colleagues and Pupils Remember Jane Denner

"My name is Kate Morrell and my colleague, Clare Dale, and I decided that we wanted to raise money for St Leonard's after our friend and colleague, Mrs Jane Denner died from Pancreatic cancer last June. Jane spent her last days in the Hospice and was given excellent care. This motivated us to attempt the 20 mile St Leonard's Way Challange Walk in her memory in May this year.
Jane worked as a Bursar at  Our Lady Queen of Martyrs RC Primary School and English Martyr’s Primary for over 20 years and was a much respected member of staff. With this in mind, the staff at the school were very supportive, encouraging and sponsored us very generously. Family and friends also rallied with support. The children at the school got involved and raised money by wearing yellow for the day. The children raised £399.60 and Clare and I raised £740, a total of £1139.60.
The day of the walk was hot, the scenery beautiful, and our fellow walkers enthusiastic. We both enjoyed the experience (although we found it tough, especially in the heat!) Here is a photo of Michael Denner (Jane’s husband), Paul Shepherd, Clare Dale, Kate Morrell and Phil Morrell (right to left) at Top Withens."
