Daughters Commemorate Dad with Leaf on Memory Tree

"We lost our Dad in the Hospice on 1st May 2017. To mark his first memorium, we bought a leaf on the Memory Tree. We also got one for our Mum who we lost 18 years before. This helped us to reunite them again and gives us huge comfort we have carried out their wishes.

We started a Just Giving page with our friends and family to raise the initial £300 towards the leaf. We achieved this in 3 months and have raised almost £500 more from selling items we no longer needed e.g. toys our children have outgrown. Gemma has a tub in her salon which clients regularly donate to and she also puts half of her tips in. Vicky has done raffles and Julie and her daughter recently completed the Hospice Midnight Walk.

Will all the fundraising we are doing, we intend to keep the leaves going. We feel it's a small price to pay for the amazing care given to our Dad and our families when Dad was admitted and also since he passed. It shows how much the Hospice means to us - it gave us all an opportunity to be a family again. It's our place of peace on special days. As a family we are so grateful and will carry on raising money as long as we can. We cannot thank St Leonard's Hospice enough."

Love Julie, Vicky & Gemma x x x
