Second Hospice van stolen

We are devastated to report that another Hospice van has been stolen from the Hospice car park, the second in just over 3 weeks after our Ford transit van was stolen in the late evening of Monday 10th June.

This time it was one of our larger box vans, registration YB12 OZS, pictured. The police have been informed and the crime reference number is NYP 04072019 – 0115. If you have any information please contact the Force Control Room on 101.

We are absolutely devastated and seeking secure parking for our remaining Hospice vehicles. Please bear with us as our retail team won’t be able to operate at full capacity in the coming days. This will have a direct impact on raising funds for patient care.

Until further notice we regret we can't accept donations into our donation centre in Acomb. We're full to capacity and, with another van down, have no way of transporting stock between shops. We can still accept donations to charity shops however.

YorkMix and its readers have set up a fundraiser here if you would like to support us.

Update 15:40 04/07/2019: Police have confirmed that the van was hotwired in our car park between 11:15 and 11:30pm last night (3rd July). Police have reviewed our CCTV and saw two men dressed in black at around 11:17. They then picked the van up on cameras heading west on the A64. If you have any information please call 101.
