Holistic Care

Please note, due to the Coronavirus and in order to protect our patients, volunteers and staff, the Lymphoedema Clinic and Complementary Therapies have been suspended for the foreseeable future.

St Leonard's Hospice offers a wide-range of personalised care which is provided by a versatile team of different professional staff and volunteers. As well as taking care of a patient's physical needs, we also look after their emotional, spiritual and social needs. We also support carers, family members and close friends, both during a person's illness and during bereavement.

Social Work
Our social workers offer practical, social and emotional support for patients, families and carers during their Hospice stay.
Spiritual Care
Spiritual care affirms the unique spiritual journey of each person, enabling them to reflect on the story of their life as it unfolds and to look at questions of meaning and purpose in the past, the present and the future.

Lymphoedema Clinic
We hold a Lymphoedema Outpatient Clinic on Mondays and Thursdays, caring for cancer patients with mild to complex swelling.

Complementary Therapies
We have a range of complementary therapies, such as aromatherapy, Reiki, reflexology and Indian head massage available for patients, their families and carers by appointment.

Our Physiotherapist works with patients to help identify goals; these may be simple or complex but will always be realistic and achievable and will help make a difference to a patient's quality of life.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapy is about helping patients reach their potential and improving their quality of life.

Hospice Biographers
We have specially trained staff and volunteers to assist patients in creating an audio recording for their loved ones.
